Environment, Health and Safety
Environment, Health and Safety Policy · Version 1.0 · Effective October 2026
Our Commitment
We build propulsion systems that spin at high speed, carry high currents and burn fuel. The same energy that makes them useful can injure people and harm the environment if it is not controlled. We are committed to preventing injury and ill health, protecting the environment, and complying with every environmental, health and safety law that applies to us, including the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020, the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, and the waste management rules made under it.
Health and Safety
We will:
- identify hazards in our work and control them, removing them first and relying on protective equipment last;
- control the hazards specific to our products, including machine guarding and lock-out on presses, winding and machining equipment, safe handling of strong permanent magnets, ventilation and protection for resins, solvents and carbon-fibre work, electrical safety in battery and high-voltage testing, fire and fume control in engine test cells, and containment in rotor and propeller testing;
- train everyone before they start a task and whenever it changes, in a language they understand;
- give everyone the right to stop work they believe is unsafe, without penalty;
- record and investigate every injury and near miss, and fix the root cause.
Environment
We will:
- reduce the waste, energy and water used in making our products;
- store and dispose of hazardous waste, including solvents, resins, electronic scrap, batteries and magnet swarf, only through authorised channels;
- prevent spills and releases, and respond quickly if one occurs;
- design products with long service lives and repairability in mind.
Contractors, Visitors and Suppliers
Contractors and visitors on our site follow our safety rules. We set environmental, health and safety requirements for our suppliers in our Supplier Code of Conduct.
Responsibility and Concerns
Responsibility and review. Our management is responsible for this policy and for providing the resources to meet it; every person who works for us is responsible for working safely. We set objectives, measure our performance, and review this policy at least once a year.
Concerns. Employees can raise safety or environmental concerns through their manager or hr@vectortechnics.com; anyone else can write to legal@vectortechnics.com with the subject "EHS". Concerns are protected under our Speak-Up policy.
